Fanisma is a website showcasing pop culture, by fans for fans. But we aren’t the sit-at-home and watch or game alone type fans; oh no – we get out there to meet the actors we love, get the spoilers we crave, find answers to our burning nerdy questions as well as go behind the scenes to discover how the magic is made, and spread the mutual appreciation. We are fans with charisma – fanisma!

Tanavi Patel (editor) was a closet nerd till she discovered the Chuck and Haven fandoms. After working at Nerd HQ, conventions quickly became her perfect pastime, where she realised she could combine her nerd curiosity with her love of journalism and become an entertainment reporter. She now also works for MCM Comic Con hosting the MCM Buzz stage and has moderated panels for Walker Stalker Con. Her interest is mainly genre TV, but she is always looking for the next new thing to fangirl over!

Jinan Al-Mutawa grew up memorising classic American and British TV and movies before she could even speak fluent English! With her knack for creativity she is great behind a camera and a talented video editor, hence manages much of the media content. Though her biggest passion is still throwing awesome horror costume parties – the more blood the better!

Miranda Loeff is a self-taught social media whizz, footballer, and possibly the world’s biggest Arrow and Emily Bett Rickards fan! Much of our information-gathering on non-UK trips is to her credit, plus she has camera skills to rival her footballing ones!

Phi Vo is a newbie to the nerd world but has entered it at warp speed. She is an editor, camerawoman, convention-goer, content supervisor and general support on the website, when she’s not engrossed in a binge-watch or Christmas movie!

Isabelle Kadyn is a French journalist whose TV expertise is only rivaled by her cinema addiction. Watching Battlestar Galactica episodes without subtitles taught her English better than school ever could and left her hungry for more Sci-Fi and fantasy in her life.
